Winter Reset

Moderate temperatures and .7" of rain yesterday melted the snow that was covering the golf course.  #2 green last Friday #2 green this morning I was able to walk the golf course this morning and inspect turf conditions.  Although everything is extremely soft, the turf looks really good.  #8 green #13 green #16 green 2018 is off to a great start!

Winter Pruning

Over the last six weeks ground conditions have been firm enough to accomplish much of our tree maintenance this winter.  We are making great progress and are right on schedule.  Our priorities this winter have focused on deadwood, hazardous trees, and branches that were impeding playability. Year In Review

The winter months provide our management team time to reflect on the maintenance practices we utilized throughout the year.  We look at all aspects of our operation including: chemical and fertility programs, cultural practices such as aerification and topdressing, irrigation usage, products we use, new products and technologies coming to market. We find this process to be an honest assessment; it helps identify what we do well and what areas we can improve upon.  We undergo this process every year so we can continue to improve and produce a golf course that this membership can be proud of. 2017 was a great year!  We were far from perfect, but I'm extremely proud of our consistency from day to day.  The weather last year was one of the more volatile years I can remember, but we navigated through the wet periods, dry periods, and hot stretches well. Our primary focus remains maintaining the golf course fast and firm.  We were able to reduce our water usage ...
