The holiday weekend started off frigid this morning with temperatures hovering at 38F with a windchill of 33F. Despite the unfavorable conditions, we accomplished a great deal. Along with our normal weekend preparations, we were able to verticut greens.
Verticutting is the process of removing the lateral turfgrass growth. It is very comparable to a barber thinning out hair. Verticutting this time of year also helps clean-up any lingering poa seedheads. The greens will be rolling nice this weekend.
I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!
